The Wine Geek’s Essential Napa Packing List

The day is finally here!  I actually get to do all of the things on my “Calistoga, Here We Come!” itinerary (that’s the actual title, by the way).

What to pack? After careful consideration, Here is my ultimate wine country packing list.

Giant wine map of Sonoma and Napa. If you are a serious wine geek like me, you need this map (or this one). An adorable grape icon list every single winery with details about reservations and picnic facilities. Practically speaking, the map is key as GPS service in wine country is spotty and nonexistent in some areas.

Turkish Towel  A chic turkish towel will easily roll up in your suitcase and is the perfect accessory for drinking delicious wine and basking in the California sunshine for a picnic. Plus, they are pretty.

Collapsible picnic cooler and wine sleeve chiller. My collapsible cooler folds flat into my luggage and holds all of the delicious picnic fixings and wine you could need for a day of sipping wine. Add a wine sleeve chiller (and a pretty wine freaker ).

Chic hippie threads.  My pick, haute birkenstocks (don’t forget the pedi). Flats are a must for strolling in vineyards. Pair it with a silk maxi dress and layer it with a jean jacket when venturing into chilly wine caves.
